Cookies & Tracking Policy
This policy explains how Tiptree uses browser storage and similar technologies, and what analytics we collect. The short version: we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and our product analytics are anonymous by design.

1. Cookies and Device Storage We Use
No tracking cookies: tiptree.page does not set cookies for advertising, marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking. We do not run third-party ad networks or social-media pixels.
Sign-in tokens (essential): The web app stores your session tokens in browser local storage so you stay signed in. These are strictly necessary for the service to work — clearing them signs you out.
Preferences (essential): We store functional choices locally on your device: your preferred display currency, text size, theme, the page you were headed to before signing up, a referral code you arrived with, and details of an in-flight payment so an interrupted checkout can be resumed safely. A short-lived session-storage entry caches your detected country so the correct currency shows without repeating the lookup.
Mobile app: The Tiptree mobile app keeps session tokens in the operating system’s secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore via Expo SecureStore) and preferences in app-private storage. It does not use web cookies.
2. Anonymous Product Analytics
We collect anonymous page-view and interaction statistics to understand how the product is used and to measure sign-ups, completed tips, and payouts. These events contain no user ID, email address, or IP address.
To avoid double-counting within a visit, our servers derive a session hash from the request IP address, browser user agent, and the current date. It rotates daily, is never returned to your device, and cannot be used to identify you or follow you across days.
Because this analytics is anonymous, there is nothing optional to decline — no profile is built about you and nothing is shared with advertisers.
