Refund & Chargeback Policy
This policy summarizes how refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks work on Tiptree. It is part of — and does not replace — the Terms of Service.

1. Tips
Tips are voluntary payments from a patron to a recipient and are generally non-refundable once completed.
Where a tip was made in error, was unauthorized, or is shown to be fraudulent, contact [email protected]. Approved refunds are returned to the sender’s original payment method through our payment processor.
When a tip is refunded, the tip amount and the associated platform-fee share are reversed from the recipient’s balance. If the balance has already been withdrawn, the account may carry a negative balance that is recovered from future tips or payouts.
2. Subscriptions and Handle Rentals
Custom-handle rentals can be cancelled at any time from your billing page. Cancellation keeps the name active until the end of the current paid period — it does not trigger an immediate release.
Rental fees are non-refundable except in cases of billing error, unauthorized charges, or where a refund is required by applicable law.
When a rental period ends after cancellation, the rented handle enters a grace and redemption window before it is released back for anyone to claim.
3. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you believe a charge is wrong, contact [email protected] before filing a dispute with your bank — we can usually resolve it faster.
Accounts associated with excessive or abusive chargebacks may be frozen, have payouts withheld, and be asked to reimburse processor penalty fees, as described in the Terms of Service.
4. How to Request a Refund
Email [email protected] with the payment reference, date, and amount of the transaction, plus a short description of the issue. Eligible refunds are processed back to the original payment method; timing depends on your bank or wallet provider.
